Jamia head appointed to RBI board
September 26th, 2011 - 6:32 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 26 (IANS) Vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia Najeeb Jung has been nominated to the central board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central bank’s apex governing body, a statement said Monday.
“It is indeed an honour that I have been entrusted with this huge responsibility,” Jung said in a statement.
The RBI’s affairs are governed by the central board of directors. The board is appointed by the government of India.
The central board has 16 members, including RBI Governor D. Subbarao.
