Jaldhara Technologies eyes acquisitions in Tamil Nadu
April 29th, 2011 - 5:22 pm ICT by IANSChennai, April 29 (IANS) Mumbai-based waste water treatment and recycling equipment firm Jaldhara Technologies is looking for acquisitions in south India, mainly Tamil Nadu, to bid for government orders while targeting residential and commercial buildings and hotels for business.
“The segment is witnessing consolidation and we are open for acquisitions so as to get into the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) segment and bid for municipal orders. We are looking at an acquisition in Tamil Nadu,” director and CEO Harshad Bastikar told IANS.
Jaldhara Technologies is also looking at the hotel and real estate (residential and commercial) segments for its waste water treatment and recycling plants.
“In the hotels segment we are getting enquiries for retrofits. On the residential segment, our focus is on tier 1 and 2 cities,” Bastikar said.
According to him, the market size for waste water treatment and recyling plants in India is estimated at around Rs.700 crore.
Industry officials say the market would boom for waste water treatment and recycling plants if municipalities make it compulsory for residential and commercial buildings to let out sewage water only after treatment.
