Toyota Recall Washington, Jan 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Toyota is issuing a recall after recall. Some of the problems that caused the recall were with gas pedals, and with the accelerator as well. Improperly placed floor mats were also a major cause for concern, as they sometimes got stuck and the driver could subsequently lose control of the car.

Besides recalls, Toyota has also planned to stop the production of some models altogether. Dealers have also been requested to temporarily stop selling RAV4, Highlander and Sequoia sport-utility vehicles, Avalon and Matrix cars and Tundra pickups. A statement by Toyota confirmed this, which is also the largest carmaker in the world. A company spokesman Mike Goss said that the North American plants would have no work from the 1st of February. He also didn’t know how many production units would be lost. “Toyota had a bulletproof reputation for quality, and now it’s been tarnished. It’s a dramatic move, and an expensive move,” said Jim Hossack, an industry analyst at AutoPacific Inc. in Fountain Valley, California.

January 2010 concerns the following vehicles:

2009-2010 RAV4
2009-2010 Corolla
2009-2010 Matrix
2005-2010 Avalon
2007-2010 Camry
2010 Highlander
2007-2010 Tundra
2008-2010 Sequoia
