India’s industrial output up 7.8 percent in June
August 12th, 2009 - 2:52 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS) Further signs of recovery in India’s industrial sector emerged Wednesday with the latest official data indicating a 7.8 percent growth in June over the like month the previous year.
Notably, the manufacturing output rose 7.3 percent during the month, as per the data on the index of industrial production released by the Central Statistical Organisation here.
The data showed that while mining output was up 15.4 percent, that for electricity rose 8 percent. Output of capital goods and consumer goods sectors expanded by 11.8 percent and 4 percent respectively during the period.
