India’s exports rose 18.2 percent in November

New Delhi, Jan 1 (IANS) India’s exports in November rose 18.2 percent to $13.2 billion (Rs.6.6 lakh crore) for the first time after 13 straight months of decline, a government statement said Friday.
Imports fell 2.6 percent to $22.88 billion (Rs.11.44 lakh crore), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.

The cumulative value of exports during the current fiscal (April-November 2009) dropped 22.3 percent at $104.2 billion (Rs.52,123.5 crore) from the corresponding period last year.

The imports during the current fiscal (April-November 2009) dropped 27.3 percent at $170.43 billion (Rs.819,107 crore) from the like period the previous year.

Also, the trade deficit during April-November this fiscal dropped to $66.2 billion from $100.15 billion in the like period last fiscal.
