Indian tea company gets certification from Norwegian agency
August 24th, 2009 - 10:46 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 24 (IANS) The Amalgamated Plantations Pvt Ltd (APPL)-Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) tea cluster has received an international certification from Norway-based Det Norske Veritas.
The company is the first Indian tea cluster to receive the coveted ISO 22000 Accredited Food Safety certification from Det Norske, one of the world’s leading certification agency.
The group has 24 estates in Assam and West Bengal and produces 41 million kilograms of tea, a CII release said.
