India Yamaha sales up 160 percent in September
October 1st, 2009 - 7:05 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) Two-wheeler major India Yamaha Motor has reported 160 percent increase in sales in September.
The company sold 26,394 units last month as against 10,142 units sold in September last year.
The company has recently launched its flagship bike VMAX in the Indian market.
“Yamaha is hopeful of getting a great response for VMAX in line with the enthusiastic response that YZF-R1 and MT-01 got,” said Yukimine Tsuji, chief operating officer and managing director of India Yamaha.
“We are also hoping to increase sales for our other premium bikes during this year’s festive season,” Tsuji added.
The company has launched a “Win-Win-Win” campaign to boost sales during the festive season. It offers gifts to all customers who visit Yamaha showrooms till Oct 31.
