India, Japan to have economic partnership pact
November 9th, 2010 - 7:21 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) India will sign a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with Japan next month to boost trade and investment between the two countries, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said here Tuesday.
“We have concluded the negotiations and a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with Japan will be formally signed in a month or so,” Sharma said at a conference by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
He also said negotiations on a broad-based trade and investment agreement with the European Union was in the final stages and it would be signed soon. “We are in concluding phase of broad-based trade and investment pact with the European Union,” Sharma said.
