Hyundai drives in Santa Fe, to cost Rs.20 lakh

New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS) Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) Thursday launched its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Santa Fe at an ex-showroom price of Rs.20 lakh to Rs.23 lakh (approximately $45,330 to $52,100).

“Santa Fe has sold over 20 lakh units globally since its launch in June 2000 and we are confident of its performance in India,” H.W. Park, HMIL’s managing director and chief executive officer, said.

According to the company, the car will be available with a 2.2 litre engine offering a mileage of 14.66 kilometre per liter, six speed manual transmission, and an option of 2 or 4-wheel drive.

Hyundai India, the country’s second largest car manufacturer in terms of units sold, will import Santa Fe as completely built units from South Korea, it said in a statement.
