Detroit, Mar 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Following in the steps of Toyota, Honda is also set to recall thousands of vehicles for a brake issue. Honda announced on Tuesday, that the recall would affect around 412,000 vehicles in the US, over complaints that the ‘brake pedals were soft’. This recall would affect around 344,000 Odyssey and around 68,000 Element vehicles, of the model years 2007-2008. After the recall, the Vehicle Stability Assist modulator would be modified.
Honda owners had complained that the brake pedals feel very soft, and when they are pressed, then they get depressed ‘more than normal’, before the vehicle can come to a complete stop. Another problem was that this ‘soft brake pedal’ issue tends to aggravate over time, in all the affected vehicles i.e. the Odyssey and the Element vehicles which belong to the model years 2007-2008.
It may be recalled that in early February Honda had recalled 378,758 vehicles over a defective air bag inflator issue. And in January 2010, Honda had recalled over 646,000 2007-08 Fit, City and Jazz models worldwide, for a fire hazard involving a power window switch. The affected models of the February Honda Recall were the 2001 and 2002 Accord, Civic, Odyssey, and CR-V models, as well as 2002 Acura TL models. One Honda Pilot and one Acura CL vehicle produced in late 2002 are also included.

Has anyone had a problem with brakes not stopping their 2007 Pilot?

Yes. Just took it in today. VSA and ABS lights come on randomly. Have soft pedal and have to pump brakes to get car to stop totally. I know they did a brake recall for the VSA modulators on the Elements and Odysseys.
