honda-logo Marysville, May 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Honda is all set to recall 167,225 Acura TSX Sedans, over an issue with the power steering hose. The Honda officials are worried that the prematurely cracked power steering hose could be a reason behind an under-hood fire. The Acura TSX Sedans, which are affected by the recall, belong to the model years 2004 to 2008. And they were manufactured between the 25th of September 2002 to the 13th of February 2008.

The Honda company officials said that the prolonged under-hood high temperatures could be a reason behind the cracking and deterioration of the power steering hose. And this in turn could cause oil to spill, which might trigger off a fire under the hood. There were no details on whether there were any mishaps, because of this and whether there were any causalities as well.

Honda also announced that they would launch the safety recall in June 2010, and they would repair all the affected SUV’s completely free of charge. All the Honda owners who have any queries regarding the recall have been asked to call the toll-free number 800-382-2238.

The Acura TSX Sedan is basically assembled in Japan, but the manufacturing division is based in North America in Marysville, where they provide employment to over 2,750 people.
