Honda to recall 1,400 cars in South Korea
September 14th, 2011 - 3:10 pm ICT by IANSSeoul, Sep 14 (IANS) Japanese automaker Honda Motor will recall some 1,400 cars in South Korea for defective power window switch, authorities said Wednesday.
Honda Korea, the local importer and distributor of Honda Motor, will recall 1,403 CR-V utility vehicle models that were manufactured between Oct 5, 2005, and July 11, 2006, Korea’s land, transportation and maritime affairs ministry said in a statement.
The cars subject to recall have defective power window switch on the driver side that could cause a fire due to worn-out switches, reported Xinhua.
Owners of the vehicles can contact the service center of Honda Korea for free repairs starting Thursday, while those who had their cars repaired in advance can be reimbursed for their costs, the ministry said.
