honda-dealer New York, Aug 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Auto maker giant - Honda has announced that it is recalling more than 383,000 older models of its Accord, Element and Civic vehicles in the United States.

The company said the recall was necessitated by problems associated with the affected vehicle’s ignition system. The company said the problem meant that the vehicle’s key could just come out from the car’s ignition system when the vehicle is not parked. The company explained that this problem could possibly cause the vehicle to roll and cause a crash.

While explaining the problem, the company’s officials said that the car’s ignition interlock mechanism can become worn out and thereby cause the key to accidentally come out from the ignition slot.

Already, the company says it has received several complaints from users including a number of accidents, which also resulted in minor injuries to some people.

But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSA says the issue is very serious and a lady was nearly run over by her own car when she tried to stop the car from rolling away.

This is the third time in the history of the company that the company is recalling its vehicles based on this particular problem. The company first did a mass recall because of this problem in 2003 and another recall in 2005 for the same problem. NHTSA says it is still investigating the problem.
