Himachal launches Rs.13.65 bn road projectJune 10th, 2008 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANS
Shimla, June 10 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the Rs.13.65 billion Himachal Pradesh State Road Project at Una town. Under the World Bank-funded project, 435-km-long state highways and major district roads would be upgraded.
The project is to be executed by a Chinese company and will be completed by 2012.
Addressing a gathering, Dhumal said the railway ministry had been asked to start the Jan Shatabdi train from here. Similarly, the demand to complete the Nangal-Talwara rail line work was also taken up.
