Himachal for maternity leave in rural jobs
December 19th, 2009 - 9:16 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Dharamsala, Dec 19 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh will ask the central government to make provisions for maternity leave under the national rural employment guarantee scheme, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Jairam Thakur said Saturday.
“The Himachal government will write to the central government to sanction maternity leave under its flagship programme,” Thakur told the state assembly.
He said the percentage of women employed in the programme in the state rose to 46 percent in 2009-10 from 39 percent in 2008-09.
