Himachal export firm to promote natural milk-based products in North India
July 26th, 2009 - 12:31 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Himalayan International, a food processing export oriented firm based in Himachal Pradesh,is set to enter the north Indian market,including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarhnext month with its full range of hundred percent natural milk based products and ethnic indian sweets.
The products will be launched in the domestic market by the year-end, the company’s Managing Director, Manmohan Malik, said here today.Malik said he expected domestic sales to touch Rs 25 crore during current financial year and has set up target to achieve 100 crore sales during next two years.He said that his company has identified a few of its products for launch in domestic market.
The focus products are: All Natural’ Fresh Mushrooms made from imported spawn, Vitamin D fortified, zero fat and home-style full fat, yogurts and paneer and is bringing a new range of Breaded Mushroom Appetizers for the first time in India.”We will launch the same, premium ‘All Natural’ sweets that we market in North America and are packed in our HACCP (ISO certified) plant and our products are good value for the Indian consumer too,” said Malik.He said that the test marketing of the products have been successful in Indian markets and it has received enthusiastic response from the consumers.The company has a market in America and Canada for over a decade and has signed two separate agreements with Bharti-Wal-Mart and the US retail giant Wal-Mart for selling its products and for undertaking cash-and-carry operations in a wide range of products at wholesale prices, Malik said.
Tie-ups have been fixed with retail chains like Reliance, More, Metro Cash and Carry , Home stores and Sub Ka Bazaar etc. for the sale of Himalayan International products, Malik added. The company has set up distributor network in major cities in North India , south India and Maharashtra and the remaining areas will be covered soon. (ANI)
