Himachal donates Rs.1.01 crore for Leh victims
August 27th, 2010 - 10:26 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Aug 27 (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh government Friday decided to donate Rs.1.01 crore for rehabilitating people affected by the recent flash floods in Leh and Kargil in Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said here.
“The cabinet took decision to donate Rs.1.01 crore out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the flash floods victims,” said the statement.
The council of ministers also decided to donate Rs.11,000 each for helping the victims.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has appealed to the legislators, government employees, industrial houses and social organisations to donate liberally for the cause.
The Aug 6 flash floods in Leh claimed 183 lives and extensively damaged property.
