New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) The rural development ministry has started a helpline to address grievances and questions related to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), officials said Monday. The helpline - 1800110707 - was launched last week to provide assistance to NREGA benefactors.
“It will enable NREGA households and others to seeks assistance from the ministry and experts for protection of their entitlements under the act and its implementation,” a ministry official.
“They can also submit their grievances and complaints. On receipt of the calls, the ministry intends to resolve the grievances by requesting the field-level NREGA authorities to take suitable action,” the official said.
The NREGA, a flagship programme of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government to provide guaranteed employment to all rural households, was implemented in April this year.
