Haryana wants all businesses registered by Jan 31
January 16th, 2012 - 8:27 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chandigarh, Jan 16 (IANS) From tyre puncture repair shops to halwais (sweets shops) to mobile shops and hotels, everyone running commercial establishments in Haryana will have to get themselves registered with the state’s labour department by Jan 31.
“The Haryana government has ordered all commercial establishments in the state to get themselves registered by January 31 and the facility of online registration also been provided,” a labour department spokesman said here Monday.
He said that commercial establishments like hotels, halwais, roadside eateries, liquor shops, tea shops, vegetable shops, mobile shops, mechanic and tyre puncture shops, STD booths, bank and insurance companies, petrol pumps, gas agencies, cinema halls, hospitals, nursing homes, general stores, grocery stores and shuttering stores - in fact all businesses, will have to get themselves registered under the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Haryana Amendment) Rules, 2011.
“A fine of Rs.1,000 to Rs.3,000 would be imposed on the commercial establishments which fail to get registration number by the stipulated date,” warned the spokesman.
“The act would cover all commercial establishments situated in villages or cities. The shopkeepers could get their establishments registered through the website of the labour department (www.hrlabour.org) and registration fee could be deposited online in the bank,” he added.
The registration fee for various categories of commercial establishments ranges from Rs.100 to Rs.5,000 for a period of three years.
