Haryana to host two-day travel mart
December 17th, 2009 - 9:03 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Dec 17 (IANS) In a bid to boost tourism, Haryana will hold a two-day travel mart at the Millennium City Gurgaon over the weekend on the pattern of a similar event in Dubai, it was announced Thursday.
The state will also organise a 15-day shopping festival in Gurgaon in February.
“Both events will play an important role in promoting tourism and will bring Haryana on the world travel scene,” said Keshni Anand Arora, the Haryana financial commissioner and principal secretary for tourism.
Arora said Haryana Tourism would provide 7,000 rooms for visitors to the Commonwealth Games next year. Besides, camping sites would be provided to the central government.
