Haryana clears industrial investments worth $578 mnFebruary 27th, 2008 - 7:01 pm ICT by admin
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (IANS) A high-level allotment committee of the Haryana government Wednesday cleared 51 industrial projects involving an investment of Rs.23 billion ($578 million), an official spokesman said here. The projects, for which nearly 230 acres have been allotted, will come up in industrial estates at Bawal in Gurgaon district, Barhi in Sonepat district and Saha in Ambala district.
Over 5,000 people will get employment in the new projects, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corp (HSIIDC) Managing Director Rajeev Arora said here.
The new units will be in automotive components, electronic, fabric and readymade garments, IT, prefabricated sheets, filter and air intake systems, metal fabrication, polypropylene compounding and injection moulding, corrugated boxes, fabrication of telecom towers, home furnishing and pickles.
Among those whose projects have been cleared include Bajaj Motors, Munjal Auto Industries and Lumax Industries in the automotive sector, Mount Shivalik Breweries for setting up a brewery and pickle manufacturer Pachranga International for setting up a unit to manufacture tomato paste and allied products.
