Harrisons Malayalam Q1 profit Rs 3.47 crore
July 28th, 2011 - 12:27 am ICT by IANSKolkata, July 27 (IANS) Harrisons Malayalam Ltd (HML), an RPG company, Wednesday reported a profit of Rs.3.47 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal as against a loss of Rs.3.89 crore during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
According to a company release here, HML reported a 13 percent growth in its income in the first quarter at Rs.86.64 crore as against Rs.76.53 crore in Q1 of FY11.
Tea production from the company’s gardens during the quarter was higher by 11 percent as compared to first quarter of last fiscal. Rubber production from its own crop was in line with Q1 of FY11.
Tea prices remained firm during the period and the average price per kg of tea realized was Rs.77.38.
Rubber prices continued to remain upbeat during the quarter, the release said adding the average price realized for rubber in Q1 FY12 was Rs.229.10 per kg.
