Gurgaon firm develops plastic alternative
November 1st, 2011 - 9:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 1 (IANS) A sustainable bio-degradable alternative to plastic packaging has been developed by Gurgaon-based Roidec India Chemicals Pvt Ltd, the company said Tuesday.
“The Apra Group, through its group company Roidec has been able to successfully develop natural oil, water-based elastomer which has the potential to change the face of the world, through its unique qualities and traits that will help create a sustainable and plastic-free environment,” the company said in a statement.
“Our vision is to remove the use of aluminium foil and the most damaging plastic from the face of the earth so as to save this beautiful planet from all of its horrid toxic releases which pollute the environment,” it added.
The company has spent ten years researching on this project and has now applied for patents all over the world.
The solution has also been tested by the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, Chennai, the Indian Institute Of Packaging, Mumbai, and the Spectro Analytical Labs Ltd, New Delhi.
