Gulf Air announces discounted fares to select destinations
December 12th, 2011 - 8:36 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Dec 12 (IANS) Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air Monday announced a 40 percent discount from India to select new destinations in Europe and Africa to mark the airline’s four decades of operation in the country.
The discounted tickets can be booked till Dec 16 from all four Indian destinations — Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi and Chennai– to Gulf Air’s recently opened services in Europe and Africa, the airlines Chief Commercial Officer Karim Kakhlouf said.
These include Rome and Milan in Italy, Geneva in
Switzerland, Copenhagen in Denmark, Entebbe and Nairobi in Africa, he told media persons here.
“Bahrain has a special place for India and the relationship between the two countries is more than 5,000 years old. It became stronger since the 1970s when many Indians came to the Gulf for work and business, and Bahrain is second home to around 400,000 Indians,” Makhlouf said.
Makhlouf also unveiled some commercial initiatives exclusively for the Indian market, including Falcon Corporate Plus offering a wide range of benefits for the Indian corporate travellers, and special initiatives for small and medium enterprises.
Indians travelling with their families can avail of many benefits under the ‘Family First’ initiative offering special privileges for the spouses and kids.
Gulf Air soon proposes to introduce its new
A321 narrow-body aircraft to India which would feature full-flat bed on Falcon Gold Class, more legroom, extra space for movement and with latest inflight entertainment.
Makhlouf said that this year Gulf Air launched services to
10 new destinations and will soon add three more - Taif, Al Qassim and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia next month, and Juba, South Sudan from February.
Starting with Mumbai in Nov. 1971, the airline now offers nearly 12,000 seats every week to Bahrain. These include double-daily flights to Mumbai and New Delhi.
