Bayana, (Rajasthan), May 25 (ANI): Gujjar leader, Colonel Bainsla has refused to talk with the Rajasthan Government, insisting that the Vasundhra Raje led BJP Government should send a report to Bharatpur. Tension continues to build up in Rajasthan after the death of 38 Gujjars since Friday. At least 18 people, including one policeman died in Bharatpur where as 20 people, also including one policeman, died in Sikandra. Throughout, the Gujjars have stood their ground braving police firing, a sandstorm and rains. They sat with the bodies of nine relatives, refusing to cremate them, after they had died in police firing. They were joined by thousand more this morning.
”Till your demands are met, we will continue to sit here on the rail tracks,” said Bainsla. Village after village, only the elderly, children and women remain the men have all gone to join the fight for reservation. Even bereaved families think it is a worthy cause. The 15,000 who gathered in Bayana think they are fighting for the future of the Gujjar community. Actually, it is more a battle for the leadership of the Gujjar community, between Col Bainsla on one side and more established leaders on the other side. But for the thousands who have gathered in Bayana it is more about their future, which can be improved by a ST status. (ANI)
