GTECH to tap Scandinavian markets
August 13th, 2010 - 8:57 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13 (IANS) The Group of Technology Companies (GTECH) will help small and medium IT enterprises in Kerala identify new market opportunities for growth and expand their reach, especially in Scandinavian markets.
“The UK and the US markets are the current targets for the Kerala IT Industry. But with the economies of these countries slowing down, there could be a cut on the IT spend of companies located here. The need to look at newer markets has never been greater. The Scandinavian countries present a fantastic opportunity for the Kerala IT companies to tap,” said Anoop Ambika, secretary GTECH.
Recently delegations from Denmark and Sweden visited Technopark here and Infopark, Kochi, to dentify the potential business areas for the IT Companies in the state.
The new emerging sectors like clean technology, health and life sciences have been identified as the thrust areas.
Currently there are close to 40,000 software professionals working in around 250 IT companies at Technopark campus here and Infopark in Kochi.
