New York, Mar 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A former vice-president of Goldman Sachs Group Incorporation has sued the company for putting her on a ‘mommy track’, that eventually led to her being handed her a pink slip. Charlotte Hanna filed the lawsuit on Wednesday at the Manhattan Federal Court.

She said that she used to work at the Goldman Sachs University, which deals with the orientation of the new recruits of the company, esp. the analysts, associates and the summer interns. Charlotte says that when she returned after her first maternity leave in 2005, then she was made to feel like an outsider in the company, and also had been demoted. And when she was on her second maternity leave in 2009, then she was fired just a week before, she was to return to work.

“When Ms. Hanna decided to take the ‘off-ramp’ provided by the firm to devote time to her children, there was no ‘on-ramp’ that enabled her to return to full-time employment,” the complaint said. “Essentially, the ‘off-ramp’ was a direct path to a mommy-track that ultimately derailed Ms. Hanna’s career.” There has been no comment from the Goldman Sachs spokesperson regarding this case.
