Washington, Jan 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Toyota is recalling millions of vehicles and its customers are thoroughly annoyed with it. And now to stem the various quality concerns, they are going to halt the production and sales of 8 models in the US. These 8 models also include Camry and Corolla, which are the top-selling cars in the US market. The other carmaker companies are taking full advantage of the situation.

GM is now offering huge rebates to the existing Toyota customers, in a bid to lure them towards its stable. They are also financing their new models at very low rates for the existing Toyota customers. Ford is also offering $1000 to owners of Toyota vehicles, to take one of Ford vehicles, in place of their Toyota.

According to a statement by GM, ‘the incentive program, which will run through the end of February, includes:

• Toyota leaseholders can get up to $1,000 in lease payments to terminate their Toyota lease and buy or lease a GM vehicle. It applies to Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC vehicles.
• Financing buyers can get zero percent interest rates for 60 months on most GM vehicles.
• Cash buyers can get $1,000 down-payment assistance to get into a GM vehicle.’
