April 21st, 2010 - 9:43 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 21 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday directed the central government to provide premises and manpower to the copyright board which is facing problems in its functioning.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice Mukta Gupta asked the government to provide infrastructure to the board and file a report on the matter within a week.
The board had filed a petition in court highlighting problems faced by it due to lack of infrastructure.
In the petition, the counsel for the board said that it did not even have a premises or building or a court room.
“The board does not have its own staff and borrows most of its staff on a part-time basis from the copyright office,” said counsel said.
