Geojit BNP Paribas launches stocks trading via mobile
September 21st, 2010 - 7:41 pm ICT by IANSKochi, Sep 21 (IANS) Broking firm Geojit BNP Paribas Tuesday started providing mobile based trading facility to its clients on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
“While we have already integrated FLIP (the Financial Internet Platform) into our bouquet of products, with mobile trading, we can now ensure that our clients are able to stay in touch with the market and trade from anywhere- home, car, train, bus, office at a very low monthly cost,” said C.J. George, managing director.
This will also be a great tool for non-resident Indians at different time zones and this facility can eventually be used for mutual fund investments, he said.
Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services has a strong presence in the Gulf. It operates in Bahrain and Oman and has joint ventures in the United Arab Emirates.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) last month gave its go-ahead for the launch of mobile trading. The regulator specified that brokers who provide Internet-based trading facility would be eligible to provide mobile trading facility as well.
