General Motors expects to double sales in Kerala
January 15th, 2010 - 6:06 pm ICT by IANSThiruvananthapuram, Jan 15 (IANS) Auto manufacturer General Motors India, which launched the mini-car Chevrolet Beat here Friday, says it expects to double sales in Kerala this year.
“In 2008, we sold 5,000 vehicles, the next year this went up to 6,000, and in 2010 we expect sales to almost double,” said GM India vice president P. Balendran.
Incidentally, Kerala accounts for the highest sales of the Chevrolet in south India.
“Today, we have 16 sales points in the state and 15 authorised service points and by the end of the year, both will touch 20,” added Balendran.
Beat, with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, will be available in three variants in India and offers a mileage of 18.6 km per litre. It is priced between Rs.3.34 lakh and Rs.3.94 lakh.
