G.C. Chaturvedi takes over as petroleum secretary
May 4th, 2011 - 6:56 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 4 (IANS) G.C. Chaturvedi Wednesday took charge as the petroleum secretary, replacing S. Sundareshan who was moved to the heavy industries ministry.
Chaturvedi was previously special director general in the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.
After taking charge, Chaturvedi met senior officials of the ministry and the heads of the state-run oil majors.
An officer of the 1977 batch of Indian Administrative Service, Chaturvedi is a post-graduate in physics and has a Master’s in social policy from the London School of Economics.
He has held senior posts in the finance and health ministries, besides completed important assignments in the Uttar Pradesh administration.
