July 1st, 2011 - 7:43 pm ICT by IANSChennai, July 1 (IANS) Figo, Ford India’s best-selling hatchback, has sold more than one lakh units since it was launched 15 months ago, the company said Friday.
“Due to continued strong sales of the Figo, the last 15 months have been very successful in this hugely competitive market. We are extremely proud to have crossed the 100,000 sales milestone,” said Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India.
Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of the American car major Ford Motor Company, launched Figo in March 2010.
Ford India has been exporting Figo to South Africa, Nepal, Mexico, Kenya and Bahrain.
The company will eventually export Figo to 50 international markets, reinforcing Ford India’s growing status as an exporter of both small cars and low displacement engines.
