ford Dearborn, Apr 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 33,256 vehicles over a ‘front seat’ issue. Apparently the problem is that the front seat and even the headrests could collapse in case there was a crash. This is a voluntary recall by the company. And this recall would affect vehicles, which have the model year as 2010, like the Ford’s Explorer and Explorer Sport Trac sport-utility vehicles and Mercury Milan. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also confirmed the news about the recall.

The company officials said that all the affected seats of the recalled vehicles would be replaced with proper ‘defect-free’ manual seats or power seats. The officials also said that they were not aware about any causalities, due to the improper front seats. “We’re not aware of any accidents or injuries” said Wes Sherwood, who is a spokesman for Ford. He however said that he couldn’t share the name of the supplier of the seats, with the media.

The Ford company is going to issue a notice to all the affected vehicle owners by the end of April, so that they can take their vehicles which have the defect to the dealers, where the defect would be taken care off, free of cost. Last year also, there was a Ford recall in which 4.5 million vehicles were affected.
