Ford India closes 2010 selling 83,887 units
January 1st, 2011 - 5:41 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Jan 1 (IANS) City-based car manufacturer Ford India sold 83,887 units in calendar year 2010, up from 29,488 units sold in 2009, a statement said.During the year, Ford India sold more than 60,000 units of its compact car Figo since its launch in March. The company’s other models - Ikon, Fiesta and Endeavour - account for the rest of the sales.
“This has been an outstanding year for Ford in India with nearly triple digit growth rates. It is also extremely encouraging to see the Figo sweep many prestigious industry awards and it is gratifying to see so many Figos on India’s roads,” the company’s president and managing director Michael Boneham said.
The company sold around 4,300 units last month, down from 7,504 units sold in November 2010.
