May 11th, 2010 - 5:39 pm ICT by IANSDubai, May 11 (IANS/WAM) Flydubai, the Dubai-based low-cost airline, has announced flights to Lucknow starting June 2 to tap the “huge” expatriate traffic.
Flights to Lucknow will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing Dubai at 2030 hrs local time and arriving in Lucknow at 0150 hrs local time the following day. The return flight would operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 0235 hrs local time and arriving in Dubai at 0520 hrs local time.
Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said Tuesday: “India represents an important market for Flydubai and we are delighted that the cooperation between Flydubai and the Indian authorities has resulted in the opportunity for Dubai’s first low cost airline to bring our service to Lucknow.
“An estimated five million Indian expatriates live and work in Gulf, with around one million in the UAE alone. This represents a huge number of people who need to travel between our two nations and we look forward to complementing the services offered by the existing carriers on the Dubai-India routes,” he added.
