final-fantasy-13Mar 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest release of “Final Fantasy” series of games, “Final Fantasy XIII” has created sensation among the gamers. There are some changes in the new version but some previous traits have also been retained. The fighting style in the new game is different from what one sees in games like ‘Mass Effect 2′ and ‘Fallout 3.’ The game was made available for sale in USA, Europe and some other countries a few days back. The response has been overwhelming. It has crossed the 5 million unit shipment record. Even in Japan where the game was launched in December last year the feedback is pretty good.

The latest version of the game retains awesome visuals and sound effects that are an intrinsic part of the series. It can be played on both Xbox 360 and Sony’s PS 3 consoles. The game experts are of the opinion that with this release the franchise has entered the 3D era. The plot of the game may remind one of the style adopted in James Cameron’s 3D magnum opus “Avatar.” There is a landscape replete with wild beasts in the game along with a separate technological world.

The PS3 version requires just one Blu Ray Disc while the Xbox version requires several. The long running game franchise based on Japanese role playing genre has sold more than 92 million copies all over the world. When it was released in Japan 1 million copies got sold within the first day itself. The company expects that “Final Fantasy XIII” will take the sales figures of the franchise to 100 million and beyond.
