Fastest-dying industries
January 3rd, 2011 - 9:26 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Jan 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) History was written when the world’s economy collapsed some years back. The recession that hit several of the top economies in the world has undoubtedly changed the very foundation of the world’s economy.
Now there have been shift in the world’s monetary system and so has there been a shift in the world’s industry. Most industries that were thriving just few years ago are now perishing and they are perishing at an alarming rate.
One of the worse hit industries is the newspaper industry. Drop in circulation due to the spread of the Internet means that less people are now interested in the newspaper again. This has greatly reduced its circulation and as a result the number of companies that sent their adverts to these newspapers has also decreased. There have already been some casualties. The publishers of the National Enquirer announced their own bankruptcy last year.
The postal industry too has not been spared. Some companies that were recently doing very well have all folded up because of the birth of the internet with its many obvious advantages.
Looking towards the future, it seems these companies will have to adapt to the new trends or bust.
