New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma Wednesday said the growth in exports was sustainable in the coming months.
Compared to the corresponding period last year, India’s November exports have risen 18.3 percent to $13.2 billion (Rs.66,000 crore), the first rise after 13 months of decline.

“The export growth is sustainable in the coming months,” Sharma told reporters here.

Sharma had Tuesday told the Rajya Sabha that the government expected the exports to improve in the coming months and that the exports would grow at 15 percent next year despite the global recession.

Exports have been going down for the last 13 months ever since the economic slowdown. An indication of the reversal was visible in October when exports dropped just 6.6 percent at $13.19 billion, the least fall in the previous 10 months.
