Expat embraces Indian Dynamism; launches website to support charity
September 9th, 2010 - 12:33 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Sept.9 (ANI-Business Wire India): A simple vision of one person has helped build an empowered organization that supports many charities in India.
With an intention of creating an avenue for people to learn more about her work, the charities supported by and how people can get involved, Pam Hudson (MBE) an expat residing in India since 1989, launched her website, ‘www.pamhudson.org.’ The website provides extensive information on Pam’s work as well as the charities supported by her, products sold by them and how people can volunteer.
Twenty two years ago, with a vision to contribute for the well being of the society, she engrossed herself in producing craft items and homemade jams, chutneys and other food items, with the proceeds going to the charity. Now, she is involved in a number of charities including Salaam Balaak Trust, CanSupport, Children of the World in addition to the work done by her on an individual basis.
In 2005, Pam was recognized for her incredible work and was awarded the prestigious Member of the British Empire (MBE), which she received from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
The website was launched in the presence of Dr. Kiran Bedi and Shivani Pasrich, who have been supporters of Pam Hudson for a number of years. Over 90 children from the various causes supported were present for the launch and many activities including painting competitions were organized for them.
Talking about her commitment to this initiative, Ms. Pam Hudson (MBE), said, “Supporting community development initiatives is the moral responsibility of each and every individual. This is our way of contributing to the society for a better tomorrow. Through these various causes, that my team and I are supporting, we hope to create an opportunity for children and women to explore their full potential. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have joined me today and all those who have supported my work and the cause that I believe throughout”. (ANI)
