European Central Bank keeps interest rates unchanged
February 4th, 2010 - 8:09 pm ICT by BNO NewsFRANKFURT (BNO NEWS) — The European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday decided to keep its main interest rates at 1 percent.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Governing Council of the ECB. The Council decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 1.00%, 1.75% and 0.25% respectively.
Jean-Claude Trichet, the President of the ECB, will explain the reasons for the decision at a 2.30 p.m. CET press conference.
