EGoM meeting on food security held

New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on food security headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee met here Monday evening.
Among those attended the meeting include Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Rural Development Minister C.P. Joshi, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
The meeting was held after the National Advisory Council (NAC) gave its recommendations on the draft food security bill.
After the meeting, the ministers refused to reveal what they discussed, saying they cannot brief the media as parliament is in session.
