DuPont to set up new innovation centre for automobile sector

New Delhi, July 14 (IANS) International conglomerate DuPont Thursday said it will set up a new innovation centre in Pune to conduct research and development (R&D;) work for the country’s growing automobile manufacturing segment.

“The DuPont India Innovation Centre will respond to the needs of our customers,” said Amandeep Cheema, business leader, DuPont Performance Polymers - India.

According to the company, the move is aimed at expanding its reach in the Indian market with focus primarily on the automotive segment, working with local partners.

“Our decision to set up the innovation centre this year is part of our strategy to support and resource our growth plans in one of the world’s fastest growing economies,” said Balvinder Kalsi, president - South Asia, DuPont.

The company further said that in the automotive segment, the centre will work with automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and component and systems makers.

“The DuPont India innovation centre will be one among four new global DuPont Innovation Centres in Asia-Pacific,” said the company in a statement.
