Dubai’s non-oil trade reaches 228 bn dirhams in 2010
July 19th, 2010 - 12:42 am ICT by IANSDubai, July 18 (IANS/WAM) Dubai’s foreign trade in non-oil sectors has reached 228.2 billion dirhams, registering a growth of 16 percent in the first five months of this year, according to new statistics by Dubai Customs.
The data indicated a rise in Dubai’s export value by almost 12 percent, reaching 145.6 billion dirhams from January to May, against 130.6 billion dirhams in the same period last year.
Direct exports recorded the highest growth of 43 percent over the past five years, reaching 26.7 billion dirhams as compared to 18.7 billion dirhams in the same period last year.
The statistics also showed that Dubai’s re-export recorded a growth over 17 percent in terms of value, reaching 47.6 billion dirhams.
