Draft report on Bengal’s urban land ceiling Act readySeptember 15th, 2008 - 9:42 pm ICT by IANS
Kolkata, Sep 15 (IANS) The committee set up to review the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act by the West Bengal has submitted its draft report, said Asok Bhattacharya, the state’s municipal affairs and urban development minister, here Monday.”We have received the draft report from the committee reviewing the Act. We are expecting to get the final report in one month, after which it will be given to the chief minister of the state,” Bhattacharya said on the sidelines of an interactive session organised by Merchants Chamber of Commerce.
“The chief minister will study it and the final decision on the Act will be taken either by him or the cabinet,” he said, adding the state government is committed to repeal this Act under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
