Discount on train journeys for media from Aug 15
August 14th, 2009 - 7:58 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) The 50 percent discount on train journeys for accredited media persons, as announced in the railway budget, comes into effect Aug 15.
Accredited press correspondents will be eligible for a 50 percent discount on the basic fares of all classes of mail or express trains, while all other charges will to be collected in full.
Journalists will also be able to avail of 50 percent discount on inclusive fares of all classes of Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi trains.
The same concession will be extended to accompanying spouses of accredited journalists once a year.
