Detroit Auto Show 2010 Showcases A Plethora Of New Cars

chevrolet-spark-i51Detroit, Jan 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The attention of the car enthusiasts and motoring industry is now fixed on the North American International Auto Show that is being held at Detroit. It started with much fanfare and media focus on Jan. 11, 2010. The mega event is likely to continue till Jan 24th, 2009 was a tough phase for the automobile industry and giants like Chrysler and GM had to opt for bankruptcy protection. However, the auto industry veterans think things will undergo a change for the better in 2010. A number of new models are being unveiled at the Detroit Auto show.

The car industry bigwigs like Honda, Nissan, Ford, GM and Toyota have unwrapped some of the models already.

A number of green or echo friendly cars have also been announced by the major car makers. Volkswagen will launch a hybrid version of its hot selling SUV Tuareg. GM is leaving no stones unturned to make a comeback and it has brought a lot of models. Besides, it has given a makeover to some of its most popular models. It has finally introduced its compact car Spark in USA through this event. The Spark is a popular model in Europe. The Aveo, one of its popular models has been given a new look. The updated Malibu and Orlando models from GM have also wooed the viewers at the Auto Show.

Hyundai has taken the veils off its updated version of Santa Fe. The new model has got a number of internal refinements and its exterior has also been redesigned to appeal to the car buyers.
