Delhi’s food outlets for poor closed Monday
July 4th, 2010 - 11:21 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 4 (IANS) The Delhi government Sunday ordered the closure of all “Jan Ahar Kendras”, where the poor can get a nutritious meal for Rs.15, Monday in view of the Bharat Bandh called by major opposition parites.
“All seven Jan Aahar kendras will remain closed on Monday in view of the bandh called by certain elements,” an official release said.
The Jan Ahar Kendras were inaugurated June 29 by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to provide nutritious meals to the poor twice a day.
The centres will function normally from Tuesday, the release added.
