Delhi Metro sets new ridership record
July 5th, 2011 - 8:37 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 5 (IANS) More than 17 lakh people travelled on the Delhi Metro Monday, its highest one-day ridership till date, a statement said Tuesday.
“Delhi Metro recorded the highest ever ridership figure of 17,20,382 Monday, surpassing the earlier record set on June 13, when 16,93,488 people travelled by the Metro,” said the statement issued by Delhi Metro.
In another first, the Delhi Metro has been registering a ridership of over 16 lakh on each of the working days in the past one month.
The average ridership, which was around 15.5 lakh during weekdays till May 2011, has now touched 16.5 lakh on working days, the statement added.
