Mumbai April 4 (IANS) South Asia’s specialty media major CyberMedia has acquired the entire equity in its joint venture with US-based United Business Media (UBM) LLC for the online magazine Global Services. Refusing to divulge the sum involved in the acquisition, the company Friday said the 50:50 joint venture between UBM and CyberMedia since February 2006 has been publishing the monthly on the website www.globalservicesmedia.com, apart from producing events for the outsourcing and off-shoring community.
The products and services were published under the brand name Global Services with special focus on people from North America and Western Europe.
Pradeep Gupta, chairman of the New Delhi-based CyberMedia, stated that the acquisition of the entire equity is part of the company’s expansion plan in the media space.
The company intends to step up its presence in Western Europe through the online medium but the Global Services team will continue to remain co-located in the United States and India, the company stated.
